Evalulation

For Unit 2

I decided to base my work based around my family so I took pictures of all of my family, then I was given a series of photographers, but the one who took my interest was Nick Waplington and because his work reminded me of a painter called Andrew Hunt, I did my Artist research on Nick Waplington. His work shows that there a really connection between the family members. The pictures are really raw, authentic and genuine. The composition of my photographs are set up for Family portraits but the one what I like isn't, because of the background furnishings. The dark curtains in the background gives the photograph more depth.
With my pictures of my Family I decided to have 3 of my cousins because some of the the pictures what I took of them had potential for really great final work.

Final Pictures

This is one of my Final Images, Ive cropped the image, because the composition was off so i cropped it to fit a composition what I like.

The other reason why I like this image is because of the different shades and because of the background with the bed quilt you can tell it's in a family's bed, this links into Nick Waplington's work.

In both images you can see the link. They got object what relates to a family home.

I also picked this one because I like the dark background and where you can also see him clear as day. I also cropped this one. Same with this one by the rug at the background.

I have picked this one because it's got the my cousin in the centre and when you get to the edges it's start to get darker.
I think at this point I put Nick Waplington into every picture.

I've edited this I put a couple of autos on this image.

I like this because she looks really innocent in this picture.

Craig Corl

I like this image because  it been taken through a window   and i think it has been a tiny bit photoshop by the person/ statue  in the middle of the image.

I like this because it reminds me of the work what i did for my piece in my vision work on my last project , there is obviously can tell that there is a mirror in the background .

Health and Safety

In The Studio

  • Tripping-Camera Stand, Props, Tripods. Ensure the lights/fittings are secure on the stands and that there is sufficient space for everyone to move around without any tripping or collision hazards.
  • Bumps- Hanging Lights, Soft Boxes / Wafers
  • Electricity- Most of the cables are wired upwards and do not cause risk of tripping.
  • Lights- Flashlight is very strong and can damage eyes, photographers, helper and models should avoid unnecessary exposure to the flash photography. Cover needs to be removed before switching on the flash lamps and fittings should be attached prior to the lamps heating up. When closing down never lay cables or anything else over hot lamps ( allow to cool down first). Turn the lights down to there lowest setting and discharge the power before switching the power off.
  • Darkness- The low light in the studio presents a hazard in itself. Various Props, wires, camera stands are the less evident in the dark. When using the studio users should not rely on their usual senses. Extra attention needs to be paid, before making any movements, taking notice where everything is placed.
  • Heat-The flashlights become incredibly hot and could cause severe burns. They should never be handled when they are hot.
  • Cables- should always be laid where they do not create a hazard. Where this cannot be done gaffer tape should be used to secure them to the floor/walls
  • At the end of a session all equipment should be safely removed to the edges of the studio
  • Never leave the studio unattended

On a Mac/PC

  • Mice and Keyboard- are subject to personal hand to hand contact and can spread germs and viruses.
  • A trackball mouse- can quickly become dirty hindering it response and usability. Flip it over and twist open cover. Remove the trackball and gently scratch any accumulated dirt from the 3 rollers. Blow hard into it to clear the dirt away ( remember to close your eyes!), replace the cover and it should operate perfectly
  • Screens and monitors- can build up layers of dust, obscuring the on screen images and putting strain on the user's eyes. Use a soft damp cloth ( but not wet) with water. Detergents may damage equipment.
  • Seats- adjust the seat level to level your eye sight to the Mac/Pc what the user is using to prevent eye strain

Secondary Research

I like this because it reminds me of the printmaking work what I am researching.

I like this because you can tell it has the golden section and the refection in the boys eyes. This is also Photojournalism.

I like this because it makes me smile, the lighting in the picture you can tell where the light is aiming at but you can also see the glimmer of light as well.

This is the image what reminds me of this picture

Photojournalism and Advertising Photography

This is Advertising Photography on a game because it tells you what game it is on, the name of the game and the background of the game it has an American flag what tells me it was the game is set in American when George Washington was alive.

This is a editorial photography where you can tell where it's been edited to help with the photography.

This is commercial photography where it shows the object what they are planning to be selling and made it look interesting.

This is Photojournalism photography where it shows a story about Flappy birds because the image is that it shows the guy playing on his phone what flappy birds is on.

This is Portrait Photography I liked this one for family portrait because it looks better than the others.

This is Fine Art Photography I liked this because it could of been a painting but it is a photograph.

This is abstract photography.
This abstract photo is a series of the same object to make a pattern what counts as a abstract photo.

Primary Research

I like this by how cute the boy looks. The lighting around the face. I should of used the flash so the yellow would not show as much.

I like this because of the eyes where you have a sparkle in the eyes. It would of been better if the lighting where a tiny bit darker.
In this image he looks really evil like something have gone wrong and he is going to throw a tantrum, but the lighting in this image.

I like this by the colours in this image.

I like this because of the dark reflections.

I like this by the pupils in the eyes, and the lighting in the picture.

I like this by the different lighting or shades in the picture.

I like this because of the different shades in the faces.

This is too yellow should of used flash.

This is a better  than the other one because of the fact of she is looking at the camera and the flash is on.

I like this because he his just being himself. The lighting is the best because it is clear and sharp.

I like this because of the different lights or shades in the picture, the hair is the best part by the fact of the different tones of brown and the glimmer of light brown. I like the dark background what brings the light out.

I like this because it was an accidental shot but I like the eyes where you can the white dot in the pupil.

I like this because of the cheeky smile if the picture was more in focused.

These where my attempts on taking a picture focused and and have enough light in the pictures but it didn't work out.

I like this picture because the brother the sinister one and the sister is the the lovely dovely one and that what it shows.
I like this picture because it's got a great depth of field piece by my two cousins are focused in and I'm blurred. The main part what is focused is the boys eyes.
He was getting hyper at this point but the facial expression makes this image.

I like this because they look all happy except the younger oldish guy.
